Honestly, this article that I bump up is troublesome - What are they thinking?
Social sites dent privacy efforts, " Is this really matter?"
Greater use of social network sites making it harder to maintain anonymity, suggest research - Does people care about this?
Honestly said and done, this is an era where people embark toward globalization and there is no such thing getting into social site just to keep in touch with relatives or siblings. If you want to make such contact just register as a member and use their video or voice casting and everything solve. Why bother making such active account where you keep on posting updates.
Social Network sites are all about being transparent and let everyone know you, "It obvious don't ya' think so?"
Well, at least 'we' are well known of treats that social sites can bring upon (most of the old timer does). Many would use real name or even real email account but it doesn't mean that other crucial private such home address or phone number (this is the mistake of previous people - they've learn from their lesson). Not to mention people that use fakes info but still be known by their nickname and prosper within Social Network.
Privacy effort should be acknowledge by user or member of any Social Network cause the best effective approach is to make sure you secure 'that' info bare hand before thinking of posting it anywhere within the NET. Never believe everyone ever when it relate with your where about and many other private information. It is enough by giving name, major location and bit of profiling which for me is more than enough.
P/S: I never register as member for any site that is online base (which operate 100% from the Internet) that don't have official/proper business certificate. Especially when its involve money and registration that require full information hand out. One more thing, this seem sinister to me - they even mention several Social Network sites - just let it be. Back off!!!
